Cape Panwa

This south-westerly facing beach - named after a nearby Muslim village - has managed to remain exactly the same as it has been for years in spite of intensive urbanization in the direct area. It's still tranquil and a haven for people who like peace and quiet. Khao Khat is eight kilometres east of Phuket Town and covers the west coast of Cape Panwa.Its sand is rather rough and the water shallow but it's certainly very scenic with views out across Chalong Bay and Lone Island.

Koh Hae

Coral Island, Situated 9 km off the south east coast of Phuket. The island is surrounded by colourful coral reefs, hence the name Coral Island. The island has two long stretches of white, sandy beach on one side, and a few quiet bays on the other.

Coral Island is outstanding, and comes closer than most to fulfilling that seductive mental image, we all seen to have of discovering a remote, perfect, untouched island escape, where the sand is pure and white, the water translucent, the sunsets religiously inspiring and the crowds for away.Only 15 mins. by speedboat or 30 mins. by ferry from Phuket

Koh Lone

Koh Lon Island, This large, mountainous island is only 20 minutes by regular passenger boat from Chalong Bay, in the south of Phuket. The mainly Muslim inhabitants engage in fishing, rubber and coconut planting. There is a long stretch of beach on the northeast coast. Boats to Koh Lon leave daily in the early morning from Chalong Pier.

Layan Beach

Layan Beach, little-known and definitely quiet. This is a small and relatively unknown beach, nestled in a shallow bay at the north end of Bang Tao. You get there by following the small road that winds right through the back holes of the Banyan Tree Golf Club.

The most distinctive feature of this location is the small, coconut-covered island that blocks the ocean and helps create the bay. The area is quaint, and if you are looking for a place to really get away from the crowds, this will do it for you - so long as you don't demans swimming conditions right in front of your room. But don't stay here alone, for this is far, far from any outside entertainment

Nai Harn Beach

Nai Harn Beach, A quiet little spot at the southern end of Phuket, Nai Harn is one of the island's most beautiful locations and most popular places with in-the-know locals. This quiet and tranquil place has only a few hotels. Just north of Nai Harn, along the coast, is Nui Beach, small, secluded and difficult to access. Further along is Ya Nui, a sandy cove that attracts snorkelers and divers. A great place to have a snack and watch the sunset is Promthep Cape, a popular viewpoint only a few minutes drive from Nai Harn.

Nai Thon Beach

Naitorn Beach, is a beautiful stretch of sand that for reasons unknown has still been overlooked by large resort developers. Thus it's an ideal spot to get away from the crowds and enjoy a quiet swim. It's a village of two seasons, during the high season the hotels fill up, the sea is flat, calm and crystal clear, beach restaurants appear where you can dine with your bare feet in the sand, very much a stereotypical tropical paradise. In low season the boot's on the other foot, it's almost a ghost town with an occasionally raging sea. Activities to be enjoyed whilst staying here include exploring rocky coves only accessible by longtail boat and scuba diving which can be arranged by the dive shop on the Beach Road.

Nai Yang Beach

Nai Yang Beach, is another of those quiet Phuket beach areas that boasts its entirely own, and very distinct atmosphere. Nai Yang does not offer the deep waters that the beaches further down do, it is good for swimming during high tides. At the back of the beach is an expansive, park-like area shaded by casaurina trees. There is a national park here at Nai Yang, though one would hardly guess it. The designated area is tiny, and is much like a well-used picnic area beside the sea. Don’t expect anything wild.

Phuket Town

Phuket City & Old Buildings, Besides its beautiful nature, Phuket has the distinguish style of buildings located in town. Most of the buildings were built nearly 100 years ago. The houses are long and all the doors and the windows are carved in a unique style.

The construction was influenced by Chinese architecture. At that time, the one and two story row houses were very popular. The houses' walls are thick while rags, roofs, doors, and windows were designed in Chinese style. Later, the buildings style changed to Sino-Portuguese architecture.

Today the remaining Sino-Portuguese building can be seen along the old roads in Phuket town like Thalang, Dibuk, Phang Nga, Yaowaraj and Soi Rommane. These roads represent Phuket outstanding lifestyle and culture.

Rawai Beach

Rawai Beach, Rawai holds the distinction of being the very first tourist beach on Phuket. Years ago, people from Phuket Town would drive the 17km to Rawai on weekends to while away the afternoon underneath the beach's causarina trees rather than risk the dangerous drive over the hill to Phuket's west coast.

Nowadays Rawai is a 'working beach' and a launching point for day boat excursions out to Phuket's surrounding islands. Many longtail boats available for hire line its shores, where you can arrange a trip to Coral Island, Koh Lone or Racha Island,or a fishing or snorkel trip. The beach is also used as a mooring point for the many fishermen who live in the area. Up the hill going westward out of the village lies Cape Phromthep, one of Phuket's most famous viewpoints.
